Components:
CK-12 Style Capsule
The WA-14 uses a custom all-brass, edge-terminated capsule that captures all the smoothness, rich top end, and warm vintage sonics of the original CK12 capsule. The WA-14 uses a variant CEK-12 back plate as a basis, which overcomes manufacturing limitations of the original CK12 capsule. Unlike later nylon iterations, the o-ring and housing of the capsule are all made from brass (no teflon parts), and the diaphragm is 24k gold sputtered 6-micron, NOS PET film (mylar). The end result is a very consistent, reliable capsule which matches the frequency response and tonality of the classic 1970's 414 "EB" classic capsule.
Fully Discrete Signal Path
The WA-14 uses a completely discrete signal path alongside its premium capsule and transformer for an undeniably analog sound & vibe.
CineMag USA-Made Output Transformer
The WA-14 utilizes an American-made CineMag USA transformer. CineMag has a rich history of manufacturing some of the most sought-after American-made transformers. CineMag products date all the way back to World War II (as Reichenbach Engineering) and were pivotal in creating some of the most legendary audio products in the last 100 years. This transformer helps provide the full, truthful tone that one would hope to get from a 414-style "EB" condenser microphone.
