Chromebooks

For high school and college students focused on standard business tasks and web-based software, Chromebooks are an excellent, affordable choice. They excel at Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Microsoft 365 web apps, web browsing, email, Zoom/Teams classes, online research, note-taking, and light media consumption.

What to Look For in a Student Chromebook:

  • Chromebook Plus Certification (recommended): Ensures better performance, AI features (like Gemini integration for summarizing docs or generating ideas), higher-quality webcam, and smoother multitasking.
  • Processor & RAM: Intel Core 3/i3 (or equivalent MediaTek/AMD), with at least 8GB RAM (16GB ideal for many tabs + apps). Avoid 4GB models.
  • Storage: 128GB+ (eMMC or SSD). You'll use Google Drive primarily, but local space helps with offline files and downloads.
