No, for-profit training centers that deliver instruction to the general public do not qualify for Unity Academic Alliance. Only post-secondary educational institutions that offer Unity education products to matriculated students qualify. Having said that, you can qualify to join the Unity Authorized Training Partner Program (UATP). .
There is an annual membership fee for inclusion in Unity Academic Alliance. Members receive up to $33,600 USD (retail value) of Unity certification exams, courseware, and practice tests for students and instructors, along with an up to 70% discount on industry-standard Unity products. For a university system with multiple campuses (e.g., state school systems), each campus needs its own Unity Academic Alliance membership. Please contact us for system-wide pricing information.
Curricular frameworks are guides designed to help educators teach real-time 3D development in a variety of in-demand fields, including game and AR/VR development. The frameworks outline clear learning objectives and recommend free Unity Learn resources to prepare students to use Unity in a professional setting. Curricular frameworks are an excellent tool to help educators start teaching Unity and structure innovative learning programs, and are an exclusive benefit of Unity Academic Alliance.
Members may choose from seven different certification exams across three different levels (Associate, Professional, and Expert). The Associate level of certifications is the best match for most post-secondary students. You can learn more about certifications on this webpage.
The Unity Certified Instructor (UCI)program recognizes leaders in the learning and training content delivery area for Unity. As the leaders in learning and training, Unity Certified Instructors are able to demonstrate proficiency with Unity, as well as show strong training capabilities. The program requirements focus on two areas of proficiency: general instructional skills and Unity-specific knowledge and skills.
